Lindsey will meet with you and your child so that she can provide the best recommendations to your family through the entire admission process. With this plan, you will receive a personalized timeline containing all deadlines, application advice, interview preparation, essay feedback, tips on when and where to schedule testing, and guidance through the decision and waitlist process. Lindsey with reach out regularly to keep your process on track, answer questions as they arise, and keep things in perspective. Enjoy the benefit of Lindsey acting as your advocate and liaison to your top schools, as well as gain access to her vast network and expertise. Lindsey is available to answer any and all of your questions along the way.
School List Development
Lindsey Valente Educational Consulting will work with you to create a customized student portfolio taking into account your child's academic strengths, challenges, extracurricular interests, and personal needs. Lindsey will then create a customized list of schools for you and review each option as to why it might be a great match for your child. It is expected that you will add and remove schools from this list based on what feels the best for your family as you explore schools.
Essay Editing and Revision
Most independent school applications require either a Parent Statement or Student Essay, and often, both. Lindsey reviews application essays and provides critical feedback. The goal of this service is to ensure that your individual voice and personality are reflected your essay submission.
Interview Preparation
Lindsey Valente Educational Consulting offers Interview Preparation for all parent interviews and child interviews for those applying to grades 5-12. Lindsey helps your family prepare so you can walk in on interview day feeling confident talking about yourself and your child. The goal is for your family to gain a comfort level with the type of questions interviewers often ask. Additionally, Lindsey provides tips for parents and children to look and feel their best on the day of the interview with specific focus on virtual appointments.
Application Review
Lindsey has experience on both sides of the application process and ensures your students’ applications stand out in the crowded pool. Lindsey will review your applications for content and grammar and offer suggestions to strengthen your child's application.
Hourly Consultations
Lindsey is available on an hourly basis to help your family answer any questions about the process, custom school lists, and testing options. Lindsey Valente Educational Consulting recommends reserving 2-3 hours in order for Lindsey to appropriately assess and understand a child's personality and learning style.
